Creating art takes us on a journey of the mind via the soul.
Here at St. Michael the Archangel School we integrate our art curriculum with what is happening in the classroom. What this means is that if a class is studying the planets we are creating a corresponding project in the art room. OR, if your child is preparing for a sacrament we are doing a related art project to reinforce the faith. How exciting for all of us!
As we focus on fine art, meaning that we draw curriculum from the masters, each child will develop age appropriate fine motor skills, eye hand coordination, study color theory, expand their general vocabulary and create their own masterpieces. No piece of art is complete until it is ready for display. In this way, our students learn about curating art which develops their project management and planning skills.
