Dear Parents/Guardians:
This fall your child is beginning their third grade year. In terms of math, I suggest focusing on math maintenance. They should have their addition and subtraction facts mastered. Also, it's never too early to start reviewing the times tables. Multiplication and division will be a big part of our third grade curriculum.
Second, reading is so important! Having your child read over the summer or even reading to them will greatly benefit their reading skills and comprehension. Have them choose books that interest them. I have provided the Archdiocease of Philadelphia's recommended reading list if your child needs some ideas as to what to read next:
