Dear Parents and Guardians:
Part of our mission as a Catholic School is to teach our children the skills
that they need in life through the eyes of Christ. It is my hope that together we can and will
fulfill, at the very least, part of this mission!
This year marks my fourth year as your Art and Italian teacher and my 26th year as an educator. I am always looking for ways to deliver a memorable experience for each student. As part of this goal, I work in my studio on new projects and research and develop language integration strategies for our Italian classes. Most of which I try out on my family!
The newest chapter of my art story has brought me to the restoration of cement, hard plaster and polystyrene statues for prayer gardens in both churches and private homes. I love to sew, garden, cook and re-purpose just about anything.
After the school day, I teach sewing for the Penelope Fox Art Studio (10 Canal Street, Bristol, PA) and host an occasional master class in painting.
I am a near native speaker of Italian. I spent five years working and studying in Italy and
then five years working for an Italian company here in the states. I was a translator,
interpreter and international client liaison for the aviation manufacturing industry.
My husband and I will celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary this year. We attend mass and take our picture on the steps of Holy Trinity Church, Morrisville, PA , where we were married, every year for our anniversary. We currently live in St. Ignatius of Antioch parish in Yardley where Mr. Havrilla is an active Knight of Columbus. (Council 11013)
We have raised three children who are all success stories of Catholic education. We are blessed with two grandsons who attend Catholic school and two fabulous daughters-in-law. We await the birth of a new grandchild in November!
My favorite stores are Hobby Lobby, Joanne Fabrics, Home Depot/Lowes and of course any thrift!
Your partner in education,
Mrs. Havrilla
